Andre Calypse was born to a particularly crowded Gypsy Troupe on Draught. Where exactly? It's not really known, as they were in the midst of traveling. His mother and father were not wed. However, such practice is not really frowned upon in his society and so he never felt wanting from his parents. He was raised by the troupe as a whole. His father was his primary caretaker, however, as his mother had seven other children from other men. His father was much younger than the woman, and Andre was his first.
Andre grew up with tons of energy. He ran everywhere, paced when he spoke, twitched when he sat. He just could not sit still. He was soon put into training as a fighter. They hoped this would dispel some of his energy. Of course, some Gypsy fighters are really just Acrobats. And that is the title he preferred, so he kept it.
Andre turned out to be quite adept at Acrobatics. His body type was perfect, and he soon found himself flipping, kicking, spinning and diving with the best of them. He picked up the use of a quarterstaff as his preferred weapon, using it in conjunction with his acrobatics.
Along with the quarterstaff, Andre is also adept in the use of throwing daggers. He keeps a set of six on him at all times, hooked to his back. He also has been known to use normal daggers if he has use for them. Though, this is more of a rarity.
Recently, Andre has begun training in the use of spears. It has been an easy switch from Quarterstaff and he already shows great talent with it. He has been known to forget about the bladed edge and knick his hand, however.
Andre's Grandmother was a fortune teller. When he went to her for his fortune, she told him it was his fate to follow Canis. The Dog in the Sky. So it was the Andre took off on a trip that led him across Isles. It was a cool, early November day when he found himself in front of Crossroads. It was this night of faith he met his best friend, Solphin, or Phinn, as he calls her.
