Gregory was born the youngest of three children, having an older brother and sister to keep him firmly in his place. Whilst he was still a mere nipper of six, his family uprooted from Gateway to move to Green Fields, attempting to make a new life for themselves by running a shop. As he entered his seventh year, tragedy hit the family and the three children found themselves orphaned when both mother and father died within days of each other. A brief attempt at continuing with the shop failed and his older brother relocated himself and siblings back to Gateway.
Fate was cruel though, and despite struggling to make ends meet, the older brother vanished one day quite unexpectedly. Gregory being only seven was never really aware of how or why, although he did repeatedly question his sister on the matter, to which she would patiently explain that he was just 'gone for a while'.
As Gregory has turned fourteen, he has become quite detached from a lot of the world around him, displaying peculiar behavior, frequently standing in corners talking to imaginary friends. Ellie naturally is quite worried about him, he disappears for large stretches of time and can often be found down on the beach staring out across the water, humming.
