Matthew Wyndham Forester is the second son of Daniel and Marissa Wyndham, having an older brother, Cairn and a younger, Rhodes. His youngest sibling is a sister, Irene. He was born in Polaris Port. Most people know of him as an investigator in the Port with some connections that put him in some measure of quiet regard.
His early years were involved in the the same as other youths the same age. Training. Studying. Some amounts of mischief until being discovered by his mother, who is a metamage in her own right. However, as the years passed it became more apparent that he took after her in terms of silence and his father in the areas of research.
It was this field that a teenaged Matthew undertook on attending the Academy in Polaris Port as a beginner metamage, choosing to focus in one sphere rather than complicating things by choosing two. That decisiveness may have paved the course for his ultimate decision to undertake investigation jobs in his later teens. It offered experience for the young man while enforcing the need to be skilled in some weapon against the dangers of Mistian wildlife. Relying on one sense over the other is a lesson quickly learned when you only have yourself to depend on.
It was a dangerous life. Even he would not discount that fact, choosing to fashion a solitary and distant persona for himself. Perhaps, some considered him cold for doing so. Others saw that his actions spoke louder than his words, and through that? He was still a kind and polite man. Fashioning a respectable reputation for himself, he made certain not to have publicly known relationships. Some say it was because of his cousin, Tobias and the constant trouble of the half-Fielder relation that drove him to keep such attachments quiet. To protect himself and his family, Matthew ceased discussing such things. It's a way of life that served him well for many years, extending across his Journeyman years until gaining Master rank.
However, that would change on acceptance a job that began in Sorcery's Crest and extended to Gateway in 505. The intention was to do the job and return home. Fate had a different idea in mind for Matthew Wyndham once he crossed the path of Baroness Crescent Coast. It's still not entirely known how an investigator of such demeanor became drawn into the frosty Forester's circle. Less known how his relationship ended up into a betrothal and eventual, yet surprising marriage in May 506.
Since then, Matthew has been placed into a position that he's never learned about - nobility. With such changes, he's had to place his desire to investigate on hold and find new challenges to turn his focus onto.

"People's personalities, like buildings, have various facades, some pleasant to view, some not."

The Present:
No longer Baron nor married, the path that Matthew finds himself on is one of an investigator. What this may mean for the former nobleman is not yet determined.
The Baron:
- By marrying Phoebe, Matthew has also taken the position of Baron Crescent Coast. It's the last thing that he ever thought possible and the first thing he has to consider now. What are his goals? What will he do in the face of difficulties? More than that, his stoic nature that has served him well to the present isn't easily lost. An asset still, he has to struggle in achieving an approachability to the people when the opposite is what he's accustomed to.
