Background

If about 5 or 10 years ago, you ever had spent much time in the poorer areas of Gateway you may have run into a child by the name of Sritara. Her mother died when she was five from a terrible cough that would keep her awake late into the night. The girl doesn’t remember her father.

After she turned nine, her maternal uncle found her and took her in. Mr. Alfred Shaw is a reasonably successful merchant and by all appearances he took good care of his niece, seeing to it that she learned to read, write, and do numbers, taught her the basics of bookkeeping, saw that she knew how to cook and clean, and encouraged her to learn proper speaking and manners.

Not long ago though, they had a bit of a falling out and with the moral support and initial financial help of her friend Kitsune, Sritara moved out to live in a flat at the Brownstone Dormitory. At about the same time, thanks to a scholarship from Duchess Aileana, Sritara started to take classes at the Gateway University to learn to become a healer. Recently Sritara was hired as a bit of an assistant by Mistress Wendy Erastothenes.
