During the pre-dawn hours of December 9, the city of Crossroads was awoken by a light in the sky above, a few Draughtian fireworks that illuminated the pinkening heavens. Word spread fairly quickly from the castle, the servants of the Imperial Tower rather excitedly chattering after a long night. Shortly after, heralds and parchments posted in the city both proclaim the good tidings:
The morning of December 9th, 505 A.G. at the hour of four and a half past midnight, Her Majesty Empress Philomena Caprios gave birth to a son, Tomas Maximillian Phoenix Nicholas Caprios. The Imperial Family would have this joy and blessing of Providence known to the whole Empire.
Reports say that the Emperor was in residence to abide with the Empress after the birthing. By all accounts, that may be the last time Rourke paid any attention to Tomas.

Tomas is a quiet boy, prone to solitary play or trotting around after his siblings Fire and Jordan. He's very willing to do what people tell him.
