Background
Zoe Rye was born in a Covenant in the Lordship of Pyria between a Master Alchemist of some renown by the name of Gilbert Rye and a Master Engineer by the name of Rosemary Ewell. For the first ten years of her life, Zoe was raised by both parents, though often she was also in the care of nurses and then tutors as she got older, who saw to it that she was received an excellent education in both the arts and sciences.
At the age of 14 she decided to follow in her father’s footsteps and started her studies at the College of Science. Having a great deal of discipline and more than a little brilliance of her own, Zoe was able to maintain excellent grades and receive enough attention so that early on she was taken on as an apprentice to one of her professors, a Maxwell Lewis. Master Lewis specialized mostly in teaching the healing aspects of alchemy and through the research and practical work he had his apprentice do, Zoe has an especially firm understanding of that particular field of alchemy.
After studying for nearly six years under her first master, Zoe applied for a much sought after apprenticeship under a Master Alchemist by the name of Emrys Gale. Upon receiving it, she left her previous master though the two, having become good friends, keep in touch even today. Under Master Gale, Zoe learned a great deal about Enhancement Drugs, although her strength still remains in healing drugs. She studied under Master Gale for four years until recently he died from an overdose of the illegal enhancement drug, Damian’s Dessication.
Skills
Having studied Alchemy for ten years now, Zoe is able to brew all of the medicinal drugs, all of the enhancement drugs, and she knows how to create most of the others. Of the illegal drugs, she is able to create Damien's Dessication, Thieves Serum, and is learning still to bottle Ferrin's Flame and is on her way to mastering it.

506 A.G.
- May 16, 506 - Zoe helps rescue people from the fire in The Burning of the Coibran Chandlery.
- May 10, 506 - It becomes known that Master Eisenhart has taken on a second apprentice.
- May 06, 506 - At the Hoe Down, plays the fiddle with Bella for the crowd.
- May 05, 506 - Zoe arrives in Gateway to see about becoming an apprentice to Master Alchemist, Coleridge Eisenhart.
Rumors
Zoe is currently studying as an apprentice alchemist under Master Coleridge Eisenhart in addition to her studies at the University of Gateway. In addition to this she is employed as a shop keeper at Ortberg's Apothecary.
Trivia
- Since the age of four, she has been playing the violin.
- Zoe is able to fire breath and used it to help destroy the physical manifestation the wraith when it attacked Noele du Orianne.
